Since 1994, Schultz Automotive (NAPA Autopro) has been providing Complete Professional Maintenance, Service & Repair to all makes and models of cars, light trucks, SUV's, Hybids and Crossovers to private and fleet clients in Tavistock and the surrounding area. We are also a Government of Ontario Certified Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection Station and TSSA certified Natural Gas Vehicle Conversion Facility.
We are a New Vehicle Warranty Approved Maintenance Facility.
This means that we are authorized by the manufacturer to perform all the maintenance that your new vehicle requires in order to keep the new vehicle warranty valid. We provide regular inspections and will inform you if there is any warranty work to be done. We are also approved to perform warranty repair for most extended and aftermarket warranty programs.
Preventive maintenance on today’s vehicles are very important, especially on new vehicles. If you have a new vehicle still under factory warranty – there’s great news! You can take all your vehicles to us for service and your factory warranty will remain in effect. Your vehicle manufacturer's warranty will stay in effect when you have regularly scheduled maintenance performed at a qualified facility, like our NAPA AutoPro Center, that uses appropriate parts and procedures. The bottom line is that your warranty on your new vehicle stays in effect when a qualified NAPA AutoPro Center such as SCHULTZ AUTOMOTIVE performs preventive maintenance.

In May of 1994, Jeff opened a full-time service centre on Woodstock Street South, renting two bays from D&D Electric. By the end of the summer, Wayne Wettlaufer was helping in the shop on Fridays and weekends while attending Centennial College. By May of 1995, Wayne had graduated and became Jeff¹s first, full-time mechanic. That same year, Jeff bought the Rudy¹s coal business property at 27 Woodstock Street North which had been severed from CN rail holdings. A partnership was formed with Brett Schultz and Bruce Bechtel and in 1997 the company built the present 50x150 ft. facility.
Schultz Automotive occupies the front two-thirds of the building while Schultz Plumbing and Heating and Crescent Ridge Services share the back third of the building.
At Schultz Automotive there is currently 6 full time or part time staff members working together to help provide you with the best customer service and make sure your car is safe for you to be driving.
Schultz Automotive opened in its current location in April of 1998 with three service bays, a comfortable reception and waiting area, and an administrative office. With a vision of expanding the business, Jeff bought the customer bases of Tavistock Car Clinic when it closed in 1999 as well as McDermott Motors in 2013.
We became an Ontario government-certified Drive Clean emissions test and repair centre in 2001. At that time, we made some changes and now have six bays to serve our customers. In 2004, Schultz Automotive became a dealer for Bridgestone - Firestone tires as an associate dealer.
Most of the work at the shop is maintenance service, brakes and suspension. We offer complete, high-tech computer diagnostics for imported and domestic vehicles. "We work on just about everything that is produced," Jeff says. And he and his mechanics are constantly attending training clinics and updating equipment.
Checking and repairing air-conditioning is the biggest spring maintenance project, while wheel alignments, balancing, and safety inspections are also jobs done regularly.
Schultz Automotive also offers a New Vehicle Warranty Management Program. In essence, it allows new car buyers to bring their vehicle to them for scheduled maintenance and inspection while still maintaining the factory warranty. It does not need to go back to the dealer until a warranty concern or recall is notced.
